‘Jeopardy!’ star James Holzhauer donates in Alex Trebek’s name

Former “Jeopardy!” champion James Holzhauer donated a portion of his winnings to a cancer walk in host Alex Trebek’s name, a report said Wednesday.

Holzhauer, who amassed $2,464,216 in prize money through a historic 32 straight wins, doled out some of his earnings to the Chicago-area pancreatic cancer walk, according to CNN.

Trebek publicly announced the diagnosis of his stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March.

The 78-year-old told People last month that his doctors said he’s been responding so well to chemotherapy that some of his tumors have shrunk by 50 percent.

A fundraiser in the walk told CNN that she reached out to Holzhauer because of his connection to the town.

“At the end of the day, I had nothing to lose,” said Zediker, who lost her father in 2010 to pancreatic cancer. “My heart told me it was the right thing to do.”

The former champ sent her a donation for $1,109.14 with the message, “For Alex Trebek and all the other survivors.”
