If you noticed a bunch of unfamiliar L’Oréal Paris products last time you hit the skin-care aisle, you’re not imagining things. The brand launched a slew of new SKUs at drugstores and mass retailers to kick off the new year, including four honey-based formulas for super-dry skin, a coffee-and-sugar scrub, and two new Revitalift serums. And now, after not even a full month on IRL shelves, one of those serums has already become a best-seller.
L’Oréal is reporting that Revitalift Derm Intensives 1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum, which launched online in October but just became available in-store in January 2018, is now the number-one mass-market serum. According to Nielsen, it has already become so popular that one is sold every minute in the U.S.
One of the reasons Revitalift Derm Intensives 1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum may be flying off shelves is because there isn’t anyone whose skin can’t benefit from the hydrating power of hyaluronic acid. The 1.5 percent mentioned in the name refers to a bend of 0.5 percent high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid and one percent low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid, which help this lightweight formula attract and retain moisture. As a result, “Smoother, more supple feeling skin starts day one,” according to L’Oréal.
It’s clear that those who’ve already tried the serum are thrilled with it. “This gives me nice hydration without feeling heavy or sticky,” says one of more than 1,000 five-star reviews on lorealparisusa.com. “I didn’t believe my skin could feel this good without a spa treatment,” another reads. And it’s currently sold out on ulta.com.
You only need to use two or three drops of the serum whenever you apply it — ideally once in the morning and once at night before moisturizer — so the $30 one-ounce bottle will last a good, long time. That’s especially true if you alternate it with the other new Revitalift Derm Intensives serum, 10% Pure Vitamin C Serum. Also $30, it promises to brighten skin and neutralize free radicals — a perfect complement to a hydration-focused formula.
