There’s no doubt that, even after his death in February, Karl Lagerfeld‘s legacy will continue to influence fashion and beauty for decades. One such project will launch in September. According to a report by WWD, Lagerfeld had already planned a partnership with L’Oréal Paris for a new makeup range.
WWD reports that the new range will encapsulate Lagerfeld’s “rock-chic style, fused with a sense of Parisian elegance.” As of now, there are no details on what exactly the collection will contain, but WWD‘s report says the line will incorporate L’Oréal Paris’s “scientific dedication and color expertise.” With Lagerfeld’s classic yet edgy style combined with the formulations of L’Oréal Paris, we’re excited to see what the range has in store.
For Lagerfeld’s fans, the collection will be a way to celebrate his beauty insight even after his death. “All of our fashion designer collaborations are an honor, but this one is particularly meaningful,” Délphine Viguier-Hovasse, the global brand president of L’Oréal Paris, told WWD. “While Karl upturned the hierarchy of the landscape to democratize fashion, L’Oréal Paris is committed to making beauty according to women’s own rules and desires.”
Lagerfeld has collaborated on makeup lines before, including ModelCo’s Choupette range, inspired by his famous and beloved pet cat. This was to be his first collaboration with L’Oréal Paris, an especially notable move as the brand’s drugstore price points and accessibility mean a whole new legion of fans will be able to wear Lagerfeld’s looks.
The collection will drop online on September 20, with a global release tied to Paris Fashion Week on September 27.
