Since its launch back in 2012, Melt Cosmetics has been celebrated on Instagram for its vibrant colors and innovative styling choices like blown-out blush and gray lipstick. Along the way, the brand has racked up 2.7 million Instagram followers, all of whom could probably tell us a thing or two about bold makeup choices. It only took seven years, but the beauty giants have recognized the force that is Melt — and now, it will be sold in-stores and online at Sephora.
Melt Cosmetics‘ full range of products is ready and waiting on sephora.com, where it will officially drop on May 17. Offerings include 25 shades of liquid lipstick, 10 shades of lip liner, Allure editor favorite Digital Dust Highlighter, and more.
Melt fans praise the deeply pigmented eye shadows, available in stacks that contain four individual shadows. If you prefer your shadows in palette form, Melt can help you there too. Sephora will sell three palettes: one Gemini-themed, one cannabis-themed, and one to create every sunrise-inspired beauty look you can imagine.
Founders Lora Arellano and Dana Bomar met while working the makeup counters at Nordstrom, and one day over brunch, they decided to infuse their shared love of colorful beauty looks into a makeup line. They started with a line of ultra-pigmented matte lipsticks in shades like blue and gray, and on the day Melt launched, every single lipstick sold out. Back in 2017, Bomar shared her vision for Melt to Allure: “Everything we come out with in the future — even if it’s crazy — we are going to show you how to wear it normally. I think that’s always worked for us, and we’ll continue to do that. We don’t really look for trends from other places. We try to think about what we think is beautiful.”
After Melt Cosmetics and its bold vision drop at sephora.com on May 17, it will enter stores on June 7. One thing you won’t be able to get at Sephora? The brand’s range of accessories, which includes two grinders to use in conjunction with your Smoke Sessions palette.
