Streisand told the newspaper that she doesn’t doubt Jackson abused Robson and Safechuck when they were children, but she placed blame for it on their parents — not the King of Pop.
“I blame, I guess, the parents, who would allow their children to sleep with him,” she told the newspaper.
The outlet described Streisand’s attitude to Jackson, who once asked her to sing a duet with him, as “surprisingly sympathetic.”
She added that both the children who spoke about their abuse at the hands of Jackson in the documentary, “both married and they both have children, so it didn’t kill them.”
“His sexual needs were his sexual needs, coming from whatever childhood he has or whatever DNA he has,” Streisand said.
“You can say ‘molested’, but those children, as you heard say, they were thrilled to be there,” she told the newspaper.
