Oh, did the Jonas Brothers release a new single? I hadn’t heard. Just kidding — the “cover” shot of Joe, Nick, and Kevin for their new song “Sucker” has been the most shared photo on my friends’ Instagram Stories this past week, and not just because it marks a reunion six years in the making. The bros are also looking especially snazzy in three colorful outfits that look like Lilly Pulitzer experimented with psychedelics. But if you think they look incredible, you have to see their significant others in the “Sucker” video.
Kevin’s wife of nine years, Danielle Jonas, Nick’s wife of three months, Priyanka Chopra, and Joe’s future wife, Sophie Turner, are the true stars of the “Sucker’ video. In addition to Chopra and Turner bringing their uninhibited acting skills to the clip, which shows the ladies living an almost cartoonishly lavish lifestyle while their guys do everything they can to please them, it’s the fashion and beauty looks that really make the video such delicious eye candy. And that’s especially true of Chopra’s multiple hairstyles.
According to Ken O’Rourke — the same stylist who did Chopra’s hair for the royal wedding last year — he gave the newlywed 10 different hair looks over 36 hours of shooting. However, only seven actually made it into the video. First, we see her in a turquoise headscarf, with only the slightest bump of dark hair peeking from the front. When Chopra is mowing the lawn in a pink ballgown — seriously, you need to watch this video — her hair “was folded and pinned up to give the look of a bob” and sprayed with Charles Worthington Texturising Spray before being topped off with an incredible silver headpiece.
Chopra’s hair was put in three different chignons: a small one topped with a floral and bejeweled headpiece, a “huge asymmetrical” one worn with a peacock-like fascinator, and a third “held in place with a pin allowing easy removal,” which Chopra displayed on-camera, revealing hair that had been softly curled with a two-inch curling iron.
A two-inch curling iron was also used for a look we get to see far too fleetingly: the side was twisted back into a knot, and a fan-like hair accessory was secured around the knot. O’Rourke switched up his tools for the final look, for which he used a 1.5-inch curling iron and “vigorously brushed out” Chopra’s hair, sprayed with Charles Worthington Diamond Shine Gloss Spray.
Jonas Brothers fans are definitely hoping this single is the first of many new songs from the band, and Chopra’s fans are just as hopeful that she and her fabulous hair appear in all of the accompanying videos.
