These pets nailed the Halloween spirit a hundred years ago | 1

A hundred years ago, photographer Harry Whittier Frees captured the most adorable side of Halloween in his iconic photographs of animals dressed as people. Frees’ images captured the human side of pets in a way most modern pet owners can only dream of. From a puppy playing the cello to a kitten piloting a plane, the US Library of Congress collection of Frees’ images brings us a wide look at humans’ jobs and activities from a hundred years ago, through kittens, puppies and film.
